Thread lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive face lift and rejuvenation procedure. Thread lift has been used in Europe and Asia for decades.
Thread lift is performed in the office under local anesthetic and intends to rejuvenate, elevate, reposition and lift lax skin. Thread lift can be used for the brows, cheeks, jowls and neck and even for the most of the body areas (chest, thighs, arms, buttocks, etc.). The threads are passed under the skin with a special guided needle.
Thread lift procedure is done without general anesthesia, a knife, scars or significant recovery. These fine threads are made of Polydioxanone (or PDO) and similar to those that would be used to support the deep structures of your face if you were to receive a real surgical face lift. They are equipped with multiple microscopic hooks anchoring and holding the skin in place. There are also smooth PDO threads used for the collagen production and skin rejuvenation.
PDO is fully absorbed by the body within 3 to 6 months. As PDO reabsorbs it stimulates collagen synthesis so this lifting effect lasts for another 12 to 15 months.
Thread lift treatment has minimal downtime, so you will be able to go home right after the procedure. Most of the patients can return to work the next day after their thread lift. Depending on the patient and the extent of the procedure, patients may experience mild to moderate swelling and bruising, which would only require a few days off from work, if any.
Thread lift procedure can be combined with the fillers, Botox, and other procedures. Clients may choose to re-suspend skin tissue with another thread lift in several years or go on to more aggressive forms of plastic surgery at any time. Each procedure takes approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the number of the areas treated. The results of the tread lift procedure are gradual with some lifting visible right away.
