LED LIGHT THERAPY
LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a technology using multiple wavelengths of visible and invisible infrared light delivered at low intensity. LED technology was originally
developed by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center to enhance the growth of the plant tissue in space. LED has a similar physiological effect on human cells as well.
It increased cell energy, prompts the skin fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin, stimulating healing response by the body. As a result LED promotes wound healing;
reduces inflammation, mild scarring, and hyper-pigmentation; smoothens and improves skin surface; stimulates human tissue growth and immunity.
LED is considered to be less aggressive and damaging than other light devices because it doesn’t deliver enough concentrated energy so the chance of thermal
injury to the tissues is none. This does not however take away from their effectiveness.
LED is used for treatment or maintenance of:
|
- After chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and facials
- Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) using photo-activated medication Levulan ® (for acne and actinic keratosis)
|
The procedure takes from 15-20 minutes, completely painless and doesn’t involve any downtime. It can be performed on your lunch-break. A series of procedures are required for
the best results. Call today for your free consultation to find out if LED is right for you. |

F.A.Q. LED LIGHT THERAPY
Can LED be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is perfectly safe and effective to combine LED with other treatments like Botox, fillers IPL, microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
Do I still need to use skin products after LED treatment?
Yes. Even though LED is a very effective treatment, it is still intended to supplement, not replace daily skin care.
Is there any discomfort involved?
No. Our patients find this treatment very relaxing. |
