DYSPORT®
Dysport® is a form of Type A botulinum toxin recently FDA approved for the treatment of frown lines. It also used for
forehead lines, crow's feet, smoker's lines, "bunny nose" as well as for many other areas of face and neck. Dysport® has also been used for
treating severe underarm and palm sweating and chronic headache.
Dysport® is a simple, effective medication that works by relaxing facial muscles, thereby reducing and smoothing away wrinkles and fine lines.
Dysport® was developed in the United Kingdom in early 1990s and was used initially for muscular and eye disorders. In New Zealand it has been available
for over 12 years and was the first botulinum toxin Type A to be officially approved.
The procedure is very safe and effective. The treatment consists of several small injections and involves very minimal discomfort. It can be performed
over your lunch break and will not be even noticeable after! The effects are seen as early as 48 hours and reach the peak at 2 weeks. The results usually
last from 3 to 5 months and even longer after repeated treatments.

DYSPORT® F.A.Q.
Is Dysport® different from Botox?
Both Dysport® and Botox® are Type A botulinum toxin products produced by two different pharmaceutical companies. There is only a slight difference
in their chemical structure. We have not observed any significant difference in duration of the effect yet, although there is a theoretical possibility
for different effect in different people.
What are the side effects of Dysport® ?
Side effects are not very common. Localized tenderness, swelling, redness, infection and/or bruising may be associated with the injection.
The most unpleasant side effect following Dysport® injection includes temporary eyelid or eyebrow droop. Patients with certain neuromuscular
disorders such as ALS or myasthenia gravis may be at increased risk of more serious side effects.
