JUVÉDERM™ F.A.Q
Is treatment with Juvéderm™ injection painful? - We always numb (anesthetize) the treatment area so there is only minimal or no discomfort involved. The procedure is
very simple and takes 15-30 minutes.
What are the complications? - The most common risks are bruising and swelling. Other possible side effects include soreness, itching and infection.
Most adverse events are mild and resolve over a 2-7 day time period. Patients with a history of cold sores will need to be pretreated with an anti-viral
medication for prevention.
What should I do prior to the treatment? - Aspirin, Vitamin E supplements, Ibuprofen or St. John’s Wort should be avoided for few days prior to the procedure to avoid bruising.
We recommend that you don’t have Juvederm™ done for at least 2 weeks before a big event. A follow up visit will be arranged 1-2 weeks after the
procedure to determine if any touch ups are necessary.
Can Juvederm™ be combined with other treatements the same day? - It is completely safe and sometimes even beneficial to have your Juvederm™
injection with other treatments like: Botox,
IPL,Radiesse, etc. |
